Pricing for a Custom Result

We don't publish a flat per-tooth price for bonding, and we want to be upfront about why. Every case is genuinely different. The cost depends on:
- How many teeth you'd like addressed
- How much shaping or contouring is involved
- What you're trying to achieve cosmetically. A single chip is a different conversation than reshaping six front teeth.
Bonding is one of the more economical ways to noticeably improve your smile. When it's done well, it can deliver a result that looks similar to porcelain veneers at a meaningfully lower investment.
The trade-off is this: bonding doesn't last as long as porcelain, and it won't quite match the depth, translucency, or stain resistance of a well-made veneer. It's a good-looking, functional result, just not a permanent one.
Take the Rewarding First Step
If you've been curious about veneers but aren't ready to commit, bonding is a sensible way to test the idea. You get to live with a refined version of your smile for several years before deciding whether to upgrade to porcelain down the road.
We'll talk through real numbers with you at your consult after Dr. Hill has examined your teeth and understood what you're hoping for.
Get to Know Our Cosmetic Dentists
The art of cosmetic dentistry isn't something you finish learning in dental school. It's earned case by case, by dentists who care as much about how a smile feels as how it looks. Smile On Dental Studio is built around two of those dentists.
Dr. Chris Hill
Dr. Hill has built his career around comprehensive cosmetic dentistry, with a focus on the physiologic (neuromuscular) approach. It’s the principle that a beautiful smile must be built on a healthy, balanced bite, or it won't last. He treats bonding cases with the same planning rigor he brings to full smile makeovers, and he teaches other dentists advanced cosmetic techniques as well. With Dr. Hill, you won't get cookie-cutter dentistry. You'll get treatment designed around You.

Dr. Michelle Pavlak-Hawkins
Dr. Pavlak-Hawkins works alongside Dr. Hill on the cosmetic side of the practice and brings a careful, detail-oriented approach to every case. Patients consistently describe her as patient, thorough, and genuinely interested in the result they want. Whether you're in for a small bonding refinement or a more comprehensive plan, she'll take the time to get it right.
If you're after a comprehensive smile transformation, want a result that holds up for a decade or more, or have several front teeth that all need attention, veneers are usually the more predictable choice.
Many of our patients start with bonding, enjoy how their smile looks and feels, and eventually upgrade to veneers when they're ready. We are here to help you find the righ path forward to a smile that gives you confidence.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Bonding in St. Louis, MO
How long does dental bonding last?
With reasonable care, bonding typically lasts five to 10 years before it needs touch-up, repair, or replacement. Lifespan depends on your bite, your habits (nail-biting, ice chewing, and grinding are the usual culprits), and where the bonding sits on the tooth.
Does dental bonding hurt?
For most cosmetic bonding, no anesthesia is needed and there's no significant discomfort during or after the procedure. If we're using bonding to repair decay, we may numb the area first.
Will the bonding look obvious?
Not when it's done well. Dr. Hill custom-shades the composite to blend with your surrounding teeth and sculpts it to match your natural anatomy. The big-screen photo review at your consult lets you and Dr. Hill plan the look together before any work begins.
Can bonding stain like natural teeth?
Yes. Composite resin can pick up staining from coffee, wine, and tobacco over time, and unlike natural enamel, it doesn't whiten with traditional bleaching. We'll explain care habits to help your bonding hold its color as long as possible.
Should I get bonding or veneers?
That depends on your goals, your budget, and how much change you want. At your consult, Dr. Hill will show you both options side-by-side using your own photos and bite analysis so you can decide with clear information, and zero pressure either way.
Is the consult really an hour and a half?
Yes. A comprehensive consult is how we deliver dentistry designed around you. There is a fee, and it reflects the depth of analysis, imaging, and one-on-one time with Dr. Hill that goes into building a plan that's actually yours.
